Charlie the Great

It's taken me way too long to complete a review for the most-deserved Charlie. Mainly since he did such an impeccable job, I wanted to so aptly acknowledge him, yet couldn't  quite find the words to fully describe his gift. I will just go for it now... There are many people who work for years to obtain a skill, and then there are the naturals, like Picasso, Dali... & Charlie Davies. Charlie has such an innate eye for capturing moments. He also happens to be one of the most personable people I have had the honor to know. Everyone  thought he was a guest at our wedding, while he was working seamlessly and flexibly with the "team" to create a truly blessed wedding for us. We hired Charlie originally for a "quick" video, he then created one of the most fabulous teasers ever for us (backed by many cinematography pros), in addition to capturing some of the most artistic pictures of the bunch. I would trust Charlie again and again with the moments of my life. Hire him for sure.

Amazing attention to detail!

Charlie was a fantsatic photographer who not on;ly was able to capture the beauty of Chamonix, the special initimate nature to the day but also our fun individual personalities. He made sure that we now have some unforgettable memories captured in photo. We also had the great opportunity to have Charlie DJ for us at our wedding, he knew how to adapt his style and build the party atmosphere with great ease. It felt more like having a guest who knew how to photograph and DJ, due to his relaxed, amicable and genuine style. We would not hesitate in using Charlie's services again as a DJ and/ or as a photographer. A tres bientot on espere!

Professional Chalet Shoot

Charlie is in the process of photographing our rental property in Chamonix - exterior shots through the seasons and interior shots - for our new website. It has been a pleasure to work with him; he is professional and has an eye for a great shot. He is a busy man but always has the time to answer questions and is ever so lovely. He has just the right way about him that suits working closely with people on projects like weddings and other special events and he has really captured a great feeling for our chalet and apartments. We can't wait to see the Summer shots now!!

Our wedding photos are beautiful, Charlie you worked so hard to capture our perfect day. The Bride and Groom always miss so much of their wedding as they cant be everywhere at once! You caught so many moments we wouldn't have even known about and we are so grateful. Long after the dry cleaner has given up on trying to get the make up out of my dress and my dad has finished making his way through the cake tier we were saving...we have our pictures. They are the lasting legacy of our wedding. They will be looked at by generations to come and are a place where we will always be young and beautiful. A Christmas to Remember

I don't even know where to begin. Maybe I'll start by thanking Charlie for creating a wonderful snowy morning in the Alps and capturing it all on camera. I don't remember the last time we had this much fun as a family. Like child, belly laughing, fun!! Charlie, you were SO incredibly easy to work with and we were all so comfortable with you and all the ideas you had. I had no doubt in my mind that the images you took were going to be good, but I didn't expect them to be that fabulous. They're like works of art. All 251 images. The Padre

I've just realised its been almost a year and i still haven't written a few words for Charlie. The day we had on the slopes above Chamonix and into the evening with a handful of close friends and aquaintances probably ranks very highly as one of the best days of my life. All captured by the masterful eye of Mr Davies. A true gentleman and visionary. Humble, professional and talented and always there to capture that perfect moment. That day will live on beautifully documented and will bring a smile to my face for years to come and i'm really thankful for that. Thankyou bro....

Beautiful , you really made our wedding memories the most precious images captured. It means the world to us that you did such an amazing job as so many friends and family could not attend our wedding as it was in Antigua but the stunning photos you took enable us to show them to the people who missed it ! Charlie is much more than a fantastic photographer

Charlie is much more than a fantastic photographer. We chose Charlie to capture the memories of our wedding day as he has a genuine love for marriages and came across with a unique enthusiasm to be part of our celebration. Charlie suggested we did a pre-wedding shoot, which we thought would be good fun but it also turned out to be a great way to get used to Charlie and his lenses! We really enjoyed the morning and we instantly felt at ease with his natural approach and friendly style, prompting us into action but allowing us to feel totally at ease. On the day of our wedding, Charlie managed to be in all places at the same time! He captured the guys getting ready at one end of Chamonix, found time to take photos of our reception venue as well as spending a good hour with the bride and her entourage. Charlie missed nothing and captured amazing memories in beautiful portraits. We have the most amazing wedding album thanks to Charlie and I do not exaggerate in saying, Charlie made the day for us! We were delighted with the photos Charlie produced from our wedding in Chamonix, coaxing us into the right poses, and orchestrating people on the day to ensure we also got some amazing images of our friends and family. Actually we were delighted to have him around in any capacity as he's also a charming guy and great fun at a party! Charlie's professional, courteous and has the crucial knack of getting wedding guests to do what he wants without coming across as pushy. We only met him once before the day but felt complete confidence in him. He took some stunning pictures of the wedding venues, from sunkissed glimpses of the mountain peaks to the truly awesome evening shots which somehow captured details on the horizon as well as us in the foreground. Pure inspiration and talent

Charlie recently photographed our wedding and from the first time I spoke to him (a year in advance) to meeting him in person to getting the finished results he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. His eagerness to capture our day was equalled only by his talent for doing so and the pictures are utterly wonderful. Many of our guests took the trouble to tell me how much they liked Charlie, his ease and friendliness made it lovely having him there; like guest enjoying himself rather than a photographer doing his job. Exceeded All Expectation's

Hi Charlie Just wanted to write and say a big thank you for doing such an excellent job at my son’s wedding. Neither of them like having their photos taken, don’t like photographers at weddings and only like a particular style of photo. So a bit of a challenge there for you there but you more than exceeded in every case. It was a pleasure to have you there on the wedding day. Although we did not know you until that weekend it was more like having a friend there taking the pictures than a wedding photographer. Although I have so far only seen the 40 teasers they are really great and capture a real French atmosphere as well as a family wedding day. Have just heard from Sars today and her words were, they are very very lovely just what I wanted. She is so excited and can’t wait to show them to us. If ever you are passing our place there is always a bottle of English beer waiting to be sup't and you will be more than welcome. Family get-together

Our family live in Chamonix, Devon and California so getting us all together with four grandchildren is not easy! We managed it only to find that the weather was against us and our original booking with Charlie had to be cancelled due to rain. However, the sun suddenly came out on our last day together and Charlie rang to ask if we could come up to his house at short notice and he would do the shoot using the fields and mountains around his house as a backdrop. The photos have arrived and we are all delighted. Charlie makes you feel at ease and his very informal style creates the right ambiance for photography. He managed to get the 4 grandchildren photographed in a natural way, rolling around in the grass with them etc! The more formal photos have turned out equally well and we are all very pleased with the results. Thanks Charlie! Well done!

Charlie and I shot our wedding in Corsica last summer. Well, any new couple are going to talk about how great it was and how everything was perfect, but in our case Charlie really made a difference; simply put, the day would not have been as good as it was had he not been there photographing it. Team Ski Sunday

Hilary and I had the most amazing morning being filmed (video and stills) by Charlie in fresh powder in Le Tour - a brilliant Christmas present from daughter Katy who owns the Le Delice and Kitsch Inn in Les Houches. Charlie kitted us out with GoPro cameras and he skilfully followed us around on his board with another camera on a stick! He recorded some great footage which he converted in a 6 min video complete with sound track which absolutely captured a fabulous day on the mountain. If you are looking for somebody to produce a family or business moment he is the man! Very professional, friendly, customer focussed and will do his level best and more to produce a memorable record.

Chalet Snaps

After Adventure Base decided to take on our first chalet in Morzine we needed some strong chalet photos and we needed them fast. Charlie was quick, efficient and was a pleasure to work with. The rooms looked great thanks to the large canvasses we purchased from his database and the photos he took were just what we were looking for. Great result!

After viewing some of Charlie's previous wedding pictures, we decided to contact him regarding our own. Fantastic Pictures

The Vert Hotel is a very fresh modern and popular bar in Chamonix and we really wanted some fresh photograph's of the interior/ exteriors and also something very personal to the bar and the hotel.
